The anti-corruption and human rights organisation, Volunteer Uganda Extra Limited (VUEL), has commended the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, for his continued efforts and public stance graft in Uganda.
In an open letter dated May 19, 2026, the Lwengo-based organisation praised Gen. Muhoozi, who also serves as the Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), for championing transparency, accountability and integrity in public service.
Signed by the organisation’s president, Mr. Tushabe Bruce Nzabanita, the letter described corruption as one of the biggest threats to Uganda’s national development, service delivery, youth empowerment and social justice.
“Your bold stance and public condemnation of corrupt practices have inspired hope among many Ugandans, especially the youth who desire a transparent, accountable and progressive nation,” the letter reads in part.
VUEL noted that Gen. Muhoozi’s leadership through the Patriotic League of Uganda demonstrates patriotism and commitment towards protecting public resources and strengthening integrity within institutions.
The organisation further stated that the fight against corruption requires courage, consistency and collective responsibility from all Ugandans regardless of political, religious or social background.
“We therefore commend your efforts to encourage accountability, discipline and national unity in pursuit of a better Uganda,” the statement added.
According to VUEL, Gen. Muhoozi’s anti-corruption message has significantly contributed to raising national awareness on the dangers of graft and the importance of ethical leadership in both government and non-government institutions.
The organisation also pledged its support towards initiatives aimed at promoting transparency, civic responsibility, youth participation and ethical leadership across the country.
VUEL urged Gen. Muhoozi to continue championing the fight against corruption and inspiring leaders at all levels to serve Ugandans with honesty and integrity.
A copy of the letter was also addressed to the CDF Gen. Muhoozi Kaineruga and Secretary General of the Patriotic League of Uganda, Mr. David Kabanda.
