There is currently a wave of anger on social media among various people following the death of a young graduate at Mezo Noir, a well-known hangout in Kampala. The individual who passed away, identified as Martha, was a beautiful young woman and a graduate of ISBAT University.
According to sources who reviewed the CCTV footage from the club, Martha arrived with an unidentified man and proceeded to an office. It is reported that while there, her drink was tampered with, leading to her eventual death. This unknown man was seen fleeing the office and later returning with others.
These individuals assisted in transporting Martha from the club to the hospital through the exit, where she unfortunately succumbed. The exact cause of her death remains unclear, but there is a prevailing belief that her drink was spiked.
In response, Mezo Noir has announced a temporary closure until further notice. Although they don’t explicitly attribute the closure to this incident, it is rumored that law enforcement is conducting extensive investigations, which has prompted the closure.
A postmortem is anticipated soon to ascertain the cause of death. Meanwhile, several people have already been taken into custody in connection with the incident. Social media users are urging others to refrain from accepting drinks from strangers and to be cautious even with acquaintances, ensuring they never leave drinks unattended as intentions can be unknown.
Many individuals have become victims of having their drinks spiked after leaving them with people they trust or just met at a club. It’s advisable either to finish your drink before excusing yourself or to take it with you when going to the bathroom.
