Kasumba said he plans to focus on spending the money he has saved once he reaches retirement age, while his children will be expected to build their own lives using the education and opportunities provided to them.

He explained that he has already made his position clear to his children, warning them that their future financial success will largely depend on how they use the opportunities available to them.

Kasumba said he would not take responsibility if any of his children failed to make good use of their time in school, describing himself as an honest and extremely frank parent.

The journalist also commented on what he considers a sense of entitlement among some young people, while expressing confidence that his own children have been brought up to be independent and responsible.

Kasumba also ruled out returning to self-employment, saying he spent more than 13 years running his own business on Nasser Road and eventually became tired of that lifestyle.

He said he would now prefer the stability of being employed by someone else, making it clear that he is not interested in being encouraged to return to self-employment.
