A Ugandan migrant worker known as Kironde Sam has been reported to have died in Bahrain, a country in the Middle East. Reports indicate that Kironde was discovered deceased in his living quarters.

Sources also mention that an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death is currently underway, and arrangements for the repatriation of his remains have commenced.

“We have just received the heartbreaking news about the passing of Mr. Sam Kironde, a Ugandan migrant in Bahrain. He was reportedly found deceased in his bed. Investigations into his death and the return of his body are in progress. Rest in peace, brother,” stated a Facebook page focused on migrant worker issues in the Middle East.

It has been further reported that Kironde was employed by a security firm named ENEMA. His job required him to stand for eight hours each day, which allegedly affected his health over time and contributed to his death.

This occurrence is neither the first nor the last case of a suspicious death involving a Ugandan migrant in the Middle East. While some deaths have been investigated and found to have no foul play involved, numerous others have occurred under unclear circumstances.

Regrettably, justice is often elusive for the victims due to systemic discrimination against African migrant workers or the lack of follow-up from relevant authorities. Consequently, it is typically left to the workers to navigate their lives cautiously and avoid danger until they can return to their home countries.
