Chaotic singer Patrick Mulwana, better known as Alien Skin, has officially converted to Islam after his conversion ceremony yesterday at his residence in Makindye, Kampala.
In the presence of a Sheikh, the artist embraced the name Muhammad and fulfilled all the necessary requirements to become a Muslim.
Alien Skin stated that no one pressured or influenced him to convert to Islam. Instead, it was a choice made freely by him.
He mentioned that he decided to make this change while he was in Luzira prison a few weeks ago.
Upon his release, he shared his intention to transition from Christianity to Islam. Many of his supporters have since then congratulated and welcomed him into his new faith.
It remains to be seen whether this new chapter will mark a significant shift in his life, as he has often been in the news for violent incidents.
It’s noteworthy that several musicians in the country have changed their religions, especially towards Islam. Some prominent examples include Dr. Jose Chameleone, who adopted the name Gaddafi, but faced opposition from his family and fans, hindering his conversion.
Others like Omulangira Suuna (OS), Geosteady, Vincent Ssegawa, and Madrat have also embraced Islam. A significant portion of these conversions is often driven by relationships with women, and when those relationships end, individuals frequently revert to their previous faiths.
However, it appears that for Alien, his conversion stems from personal belief, as he emphasized that it was motivated by his own convictions.
