Soroti, Uganda – Captain Mike Mukula, the incumbent Eastern Region Vice Chairperson of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), has called upon the people of Eastern Uganda to disregard propaganda, lies, and blackmail being spread by his political opponents.
Speaking at a public gathering, Mukula emphasized that his track record speaks for itself, urging voters to focus on his proven leadership rather than malicious campaigns aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
“The people of the Eastern Region still need a pragmatic, visionary leader—one who delivers tangible development, not empty rhetoric,” Mukula declared. “My legacy is clear, and no amount of propaganda can erase the work we have done together.”
Mukula’s appeal comes amid a surge in online attacks, particularly on WhatsApp forums, where critics have accused him of desperation to retain his seat.
However, the NRM stalwart dismissed the claims, stating that those behind the smear campaigns fear his growing influence and grassroots support.
“When opponents resort to deception and blackmail, it means they have nothing substantive to offer,”Mukula said. “I am not intimidated. The people know the truth, and they will decide based on facts, not fiction.”
Undeterred by the attacks, Mukula affirmed his readiness to face off against what he termed “self-seekers and opportunists” attempting to undermine his candidacy.
“I am prepared to tussle it out with those spreading falsehoods,” he asserted. “The Eastern Region deserves leaders who prioritize service over selfish interests.”
As the race for the NRM Eastern Region Vice Chairperson heats up, Mukula remains confident that voters will reject divisive politics and rally behind his vision for continued progress.
