Kashari North has recently become a center of political debate due to ineffective representation, which voters attribute to the current leadership in the constituency. The leadership has failed to lobby for essential services such as clean water and electricity.

Kashari North has faced chronic challenges such as limited access to clean water, poor road networks in rural areas, and no electricity extensions. With the majority of the population engaged in farming, they struggle with low production due to a lack of knowledge and expertise in farming, as well as low prices due to poor roads that hinder access to markets for agricultural products.

On February 21st, stakeholders and leaders from local councils (I, II, III) and councillors representing parishes at sub-counties gathered at the home of Hon. Musinguzi Patrick for NRM ideological training focused on wealth creation and poverty alleviation.

The meeting was warmly received by all stakeholders and appreciated for the clear mindset change that Hon. Musinguzi is advocating to increase household production and income. Farmers were trained on how to use improved varieties of crops to increase yield production and how to use better breeds of animals to enhance milk production.

Hon. Musinguzi stressed the need to move beyond traditional farming, where farmers focused on having many cows with low milk production, to modern farming practices where farmers rear fewer, but highly productive cows. He also encouraged farmers to embrace President Kaguta Museveni’s message of the 4-acre model of farming. “Personally, I have embraced the 4-acre model, and it’s working well and is very productive,” Hon. Musinguzi emphasized.

He noted that President Museveni is a living example of true and effective leadership, and encouraged all stakeholders to learn from Museveni’s message of fighting poverty and increasing production.

The LCIII Chairman for Kagongi Subcounty noted that people have long lacked such sensitization and training. He emphasized that it is the role of leaders to promote mindset change in their communities and fight poverty. “It’s very tiresome to lead a poor society where the majority of people cannot afford minimum standards,” the councillor remarked.

Leaders expressed their appreciation for Hon. Musinguzi and promised to rally behind him in the 2026 elections. Stakeholders gave him a new name, “Akooki ka Kashari North,” meaning that his leadership is exemplary and sweet like honey.

With all of this happening, Hon. Patrick Musinguzi, the incoming Member of Parliament for Kashari North Constituency, remains on the ground, uniting people for development.
