It’s alleged that the deceased and his colleagues went to nearby stagnant water that logged due to a pit left after murram excavation by the China Railway Group 5 while they were constructing the Gulu-Kitgum highway.

Okello says that the water has so far killed three people including the 8-year-old child. According to him, the locals have demanded that Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) and the China Railway Group 5 (CREG 5) fill the pit created after murram excavation to avoid such avoidable incidents, but to date, they have not shown up.

He further threatens to sue the entities saying that they are responsible for the avoidable deaths that are taking lives of innocent souls.
