Comedian Eric Omondi took to social media on Saturday, June 15, to mourn his brother Fred Omondi, who tragically passed away in an accident along Kangundo Road in Nairobi.

Fred Omondi, a former Churchill Show comedian known for his creativity in the Kenyan comedy industry, had boarded a motorcycle that collided with an oncoming vehicle. Despite being rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital for treatment, he succumbed to his injuries.

In a heartfelt tribute, Eric Omondi reminisced about the moments he shared with his late brother, including their collaboration on a song dubbed “Kasuku.” The song addresses bad leadership that has led the electorate into despair and suffering.

In a shared video, the duo could be seen dancing together in a desert, clad in white apparel.

“Go well, brother,” captioned Eric Omondi.

Fred Omondi’s untimely death has shocked Kenyans, prompting an outpouring of empathy and condolences from various figures.

“The creative industry has lost a gem. Fred Omondi brightened our living rooms with his addictive comedy renditions,” Former Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga commented.

“That he has tragically lost his life in a road accident is heart-rending. I commiserate with his family, friends, and his fans. May his soul find perfect peace,” she added.

Lang’ata Member of Parliament Felix Odiwuor, alias Jalang’o, also mourned Fred Omondi, sharing photos of himself with the deceased from past events.

Fred Omondi had been scheduled to host an event at a lounge in Meru this weekend.
