President Ruto Appoints New Government Officials

President William Ruto has made several key appointments in the government, as announced in a gazette notice released on Friday, October 13, 2023. These appointments include Naomi Shaban, who has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Tobacco Control Board, and Dr. Simon Gicharu, who will serve as the Chairperson of the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD). Additionally, Nelson Nzuya has been appointed as a member of the Non-Governmental Organization Coordination Board, Job Chirchir as the Water Services Regulatory Board chairperson, and Titus Korir as the chairperson of the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) board. The term for these appointments is three years, with specific end dates for each appointee.

In addition to these appointments, Nancy Gathuku and George Okeyo were appointed to the Registration of Certified Public Secretaries Board and the Board of Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis, respectively, by Treasury CS Njuguna Ndung’u. Jimmy Angwenyi and Gitu Kahengeri were appointed as the Chairperson and member of the National Heroes Council, respectively, for three years by Gender CS Aisha Jumwa.
