Stakeholder engagement meetings are ongoing in all sub-counties of Alebtong District, conducted by the Climate-Smart Agricultural Transformation Project (CSATP).

The meetings began on Thursday, February 6, 2024, and will continue until February 9, 2024, at the respective sub-county headquarters.

Alebtong District Local Government is one of the sixty-nine districts benefiting from the Climate-Smart Agricultural Transformation Project (CSATP).

In a meeting presided over by the Assistant Resident District Commissioner (ARDC) of Alebtong District, Ongom Lameck, and attended by local leaders on Thursday in Aloi Sub-County and Alebtong Town Council, the importance of group formation was emphasized. Ongom Lameck applauded President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the project, supported by the World Bank, which focuses on socio-economic transformation.

To support the effective implementation of CSATP, the district is required to select beneficiary parishes and groups in the respective value chains and submit them to the ministry as a matter of urgency.

The ARDC said the rollout of the program, as seen in the engagement meetings, is to enable sub-counties to understand the project’s objectives.

These objectives include, among others, group formation and the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders.

He added that this is crucial because stakeholders, as implementers in parishes or sub-counties, will understand the selection criteria in their areas.
