The Umukuka III of the Bamasaaba people, the Bamasaaba Cultural Institution cabinet, and the entire Bamasaaba community have congratulated the Mufti of Uganda, His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Mubajje, on his re-election as Mufti of Uganda.
In a letter dated March 14th, His Highness, the Umukuka III Jude Mike Mudoma, saluted the Mufti upon his re-election and wished him good health as he continues to lead the Muslim community. His Highness expressed his congratulations in the following words: “Congratulations, Your Eminence, the Mufti of Uganda, upon your re-election. Your election to this office is a true testament to the trust the Muslim community has in your leadership.”
The Umukuka III also wished the Mufti continued good health as he serves the Muslim community.
The spokesperson of the Bamasaaba Cultural Institution told this publication that Hajji Shaban Mubajje hails from Mbale. Before becoming the Mufti of Uganda, he had served in various capacities, including as a Sheikh in several mosques, leading prayers, and as a lecturer at the Islamic University in Uganda. He also mentored Muslim students in places like Jinja and Namutumba District.
The Bamasaaba community remains supportive of His Eminence Mufti Mubajje’s leadership and appreciates the various development initiatives he has brought to the region. Several Muslims interviewed by this publication from across Masaabaland expressed their best wishes to the Mufti.
Mr. Karim Murami, an old friend of the Mufti and a primary school headteacher in the city, shared his happiness and said, “Mufti Mubajje brought me into teaching from music recording.” Similarly, Hajji Suleiman Makwasi, an official with NIRA, and Hajji Manghali, who works with Oxfam, both wished him good health as he continues to serve the Ummah.
