Maruzi North aspiring Member of Parliament and Coordinator of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) in Apac District, Mr. Bernard Otim Odoc, on Saturday morning picked his Expression of Interest (nomination) form from the NRM Electoral Commission Headquarters in Kampala.
According to Mr. Otim Odoc, this marks the official beginning of his journey toward the NRM primary elections, scheduled for July.
Mr. Otim, who has been a prominent figure and a committed servant of the people of Maruzi North for the past two years, is widely expected to sail through the primaries with ease.
Reports from Maruzi North, Apac District, indicate that Mr. Otim has been receiving widespread endorsements from various community leaders and residents, positioning him as the preferred sole candidate to carry the NRM flag in the constituency.
Speaking to our reporter, Mr. Deo Okunyu, a respected local leader, emphasized the overwhelming support for Mr. Otim in the region.
“As the people of Maruzi North and Apac Sub-county, we recognize no other. It is only Bernard Otim who has consistently stood with the people. We intend to reward his dedication by ensuring he faces no primary contest,” said one of the voters.
A recent independent survey conducted in Maruzi North shows that Mr. Bernard Otim holds a commanding 90% advantage in the NRM primaries, should any other candidate choose to contest.
Mr. Bernard Otim is widely known for his popular slogan: “Atedero pi Otedero.”
