After four and a half years of diplomatic service in Uganda, the outgoing Italian Ambassador, Massimiliano Mazzanti, met with President Yoweri Museveni at State House Entebbe on Wednesday to express his gratitude and bid farewell.
Mazzanti arrived in Uganda in 2019 to assume his diplomatic duties and has since completed his tenure.
During their meeting, President Museveni congratulated Ambassador Mazzanti for successfully concluding his tour of duty in Uganda. He also acknowledged the positive and robust bilateral relations that exist between Italy and Uganda, as reported by Museveni’s press team.
In response, Ambassador Mazzanti conveyed his appreciation to President Museveni, stating, “for the support you have given to me.” Following his tenure in Uganda, Ambassador Mazzanti will be returning to Rome, where his next posting awaits.
Uganda’s State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Henry Okello Oryem, was also in attendance during this diplomatic farewell meeting.
This meeting marked a significant moment in the continued diplomatic relations between Italy and Uganda and served as a gesture of appreciation from the outgoing Italian Ambassador for the support he received during his tenure.
