His Highness, the Umukuka III of the Bugisu Cultural Institution, Jude Mike Mudoma, is slated to celebrate his 2nd anniversary this week.
Hon. Steven Masiga, the spokesperson of the cultural institution, told this publication that there will be a series of activities leading up to the coronation ceremony, including sweeping of the city, prayer sessions, and other community engagements.
The event will be attended by high-profile guests from the USA, Indonesia, as well as cultural leaders from various parts of Uganda and invited members of the Bamasaaba community.
His Highness Jude Mike Mudoma was gazetted in 2023 following mediation efforts that resolved the leadership impasse within the cultural institution.
He will be celebrating two years in office, and President Museveni is expected to be the Guest of Honour.
Invitations are currently being rolled out to institutions such as schools and other notable members of the Bamasaaba community, particularly those in key government sectors.
The theme of the coronation is: “Shifting the Narrative, Unleashing Bugisu’s Development Potential.”
There will be key speakers at the event who will engage the Bamasaaba on topics related to development and education.
