Kisoro, Uganda — In a significant cultural development, General (Rtd) Kale Kayihura has officially invited His Royal Highness Sir Jude Mike Mudoma, the Umukuuka III of Bugisu, to Kisoro for a cultural exchange program scheduled for December 28, 2025.
The invitation follows an engaging meetinu g between the two leaders at Ibanda University during the institution’s 9th graduation ceremony.
Discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening cultural ties, enhancing cooperation, and promoting unity between the people of Bugisu and Kigezi.
The upcoming cultural exchange program is expected to feature traditional performances, cultural exhibitions, and interactive sessions aimed at fostering deeper understanding between the two regions.
Speaking to The Ankole Times, the spokesperson of the Bugisu Cultural Institution, Hon. Steven Masiga, confirmed the impending visit, noting that the Umukuuka III was invited by the Banyakigezi community under the leadership of former Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura.
Hon. Masiga emphasized that the visit will contribute significantly to cultural diplomacy and reinforce the longstanding historical bonds shared by the two communities.
