Government Launches Mass Business Registration Drive with Target of UGX 90 Billion Revenue

The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has initiated a campaign called “Kiri Easy, Formalize Today” with the goal of encouraging entrepreneurs and small business owners to formalize their businesses.

Today, URSB introduced this campaign, which aims to simplify the registration process and educate individuals about the advantages of becoming formal businesses. The bureau intends to boost economic growth by adding 873,546 more registered businesses by the year 2026/27.

Experts suggest that formalizing businesses by registering them and adhering to legal and regulatory requirements offers legal protection, access to financial services, and opportunities for expansion.

URSB’s mass business registration campaign is designed to help entrepreneurs and small business owners transition from the informal to the formal sector. Leveraging user-friendly technology, the Kiri Easy campaign provides comprehensive support and guidance, making the registration process efficient and straightforward.
