The Uganda Insurers Association (UIA) is planning to continue its efforts to educate members of the business community about the importance of purchasing insurance for their everyday operations.
Philip Higiro, UIA’s Public Relations and Membership Manager, revealed that this decision was influenced by the significant interest shown by attendees of the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) International Trade Fair who visited their booth to learn more about insurance.
Higiro stated, “The Trade Fair was a success for UIA. We were able to interact with a diverse audience, including business community representatives, students, and the general public, explaining to them the benefits of insurance packages. This week-long event has been highly informative, and we are committed to conveying the message that insurance serves as a valuable support.”
UIA observed a substantial information gap concerning insurance and how it functions, and they believe that through ongoing public awareness initiatives, this gap can be narrowed.
This marked UIA’s inaugural participation as a sponsor at the trade fair and a partnership with the Uganda Manufacturers’ Association. UIA participated with the sub-theme “Welcome to the sure side of life,” emphasizing that insurance provides a secure recourse in the face of uncertainties. The international trade fair attracted over 1,000 exhibitors and participants from 30 different countries.
