The Human Resource Manager of the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Ms. Jennifer Etit Okaka, has been charged with corruption, abuse of office, and causing financial loss to the government.
The charges were brought before the Anti-Corruption Court in Kampala earlier today.
Prosecutors allege that Ms. Okaka failed to update the payroll during her tenure as a senior administrator at CAA, an omission that reportedly led to a loss of Shs14 million in public funds.
She appeared before the court and was remanded to Luzira Prison until August 14, 2025, when her bail application will be considered.
The case is part of a broader effort by authorities to crack down on financial irregularities in public institutions.
It follows findings from the Auditor General’s 2023 report, which exposed multiple cases of payroll mismanagement across government agencies.
