Renowned Ugandan dancer Ritah Dancehall, known for her dynamic performances on music stages and in music videos, recently made a commitment to transform her wardrobe choices. During an appearance on Urban TV on January 9, 2024, she assured her fans of a departure from her previous revealing outfits.

Acknowledging concerns raised by her fans about the perceived erosion of Ugandan culture due to her dress code and dance style, Ritah unequivocally declared her decision to opt for more refined attire. She expressed a desire to address her fans’ worries and present herself in a manner that aligns with their expectations.

“I am not going to put on those clothes again. This year, I want to start putting on well so well so that some of my fans can stop complaining about my dirty dress code. Most of them say they like the way I dance, but they do not like the way I dress,” Ritah explained.

While discussing the challenges faced by the dance entertainment sector, Ritah Dancehall emphasized the need for greater recognition and dedicated sections for dancers in award platforms. She urged fellow dancers to draw inspiration from their international counterparts, highlighting the importance of dedication, practice, and the pursuit of dreams.

“I admire dancers from other countries; they are dedicated and invest significantly in their careers, paying attention to fashion, aesthetics, and more. When you see them, you witness a complete brand. This is a model Ugandans should adopt,” Ritah remarked.

Despite challenges, Ritah remains a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, having shared the stage with acclaimed artists such as Harmonize, Diamond Platnumz, and Konshens. Her global performances include appearances in the UK, the UAE, and various other countries. Currently serving as a dance instructor, dancer, and makeup artist, Ritah continues to leave her mark on the dance scene.
