Famed Congolese singer Fally Ipupa concluded his double concert tour in Uganda with an energetic performance at the Sheraton Gardens in Kampala. This was his second show in Uganda over the weekend.
After his previous performance in Arua, where he left the stage soaked in sweat, Fally returned to Kampala with a mission to create lasting memories for his fans in the city.
On a cloudy Sunday evening, concert-goers patiently queued up until around 8 pm when most of them had settled into their chosen spots, eagerly awaiting the show.
Inside the venue, the stage setup by Fenon Events stood out with its impressive LED video walls and intelligent lighting, which added to the atmosphere, especially given the chilly weather.
The evening began with a lively performance by Abeeka Band, known for their impressive vocals, playing the latest club hits to set the mood for the audience.
Fally took the stage at 10 pm to a high-spirited audience ready to enjoy the show. I&M Bank Uganda, one of the event sponsors, had their Group Head of Marketing, Mwihaki Wachira, in attendance, expressing her excitement about being part of such a significant event.
“This has been quite a remarkable experience, watching a global superstar like Fally Ipupa put up an amazing performance just a few meters away from my seat. He barely missed a beat, and the entire show was a success. It’s even more satisfying to know that I&M Bank Uganda played a significant role in making such a grand event possible. As a bank, we take joy in sharing such experiences with our customers,” said Mwihaki.
The audience, comprising a significant number of Congolese nationals residing and working in Uganda, enthusiastically sang along to Fally’s songs, especially “Mayday,” a song that conveys strong emotional pain and confusion after the loss of a loved one.
Songs like “Eloko Oyo,” “Maria,” “Asfana,” “Bloque,” and “Science Fiction” had the revelers dancing throughout the night.
Fally’s unisex dance crew, dressed in matching pink and white outfits for the ladies and white tees with black jeans for the men, complemented his performance with well-choreographed dance moves. However, it was Fally’s slow, mesmerizing waist-gyrating dance moves that drew the most attention, causing the crowd to scream with excitement each time.
For two hours straight, Fally delivered a captivating performance, and by the end of the night, concert-goers left the venue satisfied, feeling that they had received excellent value for their money.
