The High Court in Uganda has decided to announce its ruling on lawyer Felix Kintu Nteza’s case on October 11, 2023. In this case, Nteza is contesting his trial at the Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court, where he faces fraud charges.

Originally, the court was supposed to deliver the ruling on a Wednesday, but Justice Isaac Muwata expressed the need for more time to prepare his judgment. Consequently, he rescheduled the ruling date to October 11.

Lawyer Felix Kintu Nteza, associated with Kintu Nteza and Co. Advocates, stands accused of falsely acquiring UGX 195 million from Interlink Education Services Limited regarding a land transaction in Wakiso District dating back to 2013.

The prosecution alleges that Nteza falsely represented that the administrators of the late George Kamya’s estate and the estate’s beneficiaries were selling the mentioned land to Interlink Education Services Limited. The land in question is located in Gimbo, Wakiso district.

As stated in the charge sheet, between August 27, 2013, and August 5, 2014, while operating from his offices at Kintu Nteza and Co Advocates within E-Towers on Kampala Road, Nteza is accused of obtaining UGX 195 million from Interlink Educational Services Ltd under the false pretense of a land deal.

In his scheme, Nteza purported that the administrators of the late George Kamya’s estate and the estate’s beneficiaries were selling the land at Busiro Block 220, plot 64 in Gimbo, Wakiso District to the company, which was not the case. Consequently, Nteza sought relief from the High Court to challenge the trial.
