The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has initiated a series of transfers involving 39 officers, including the deployment of some to newly established regional offices. Among those affected by the transfers are 13 Assistant Directors of Public Prosecutions (ADPPs), who will assume leadership roles as Regional Officers (ROs) in the respective regional offices.

Jacquelyn Okui, the Public Relations Officer of ODPP, emphasized that these changes are aimed at bolstering efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery. The establishment of Regional Offices is intended to provide oversight for Resident State Attorneys (RSAs) and Prosecutors (RSPs), while facilitating better coordination and communication between the central office and field stations.

According to Okui, the transfers of Assistant DPPs are scheduled to take effect on April 2, 2024, and are motivated by several factors, including the need for staff versatility, providing individuals with new opportunities, and serving the public interest.
