Boda Boda Rider Murdered in Namisindwa, Motorcycle Stolen

Namisindwa police are actively searching for assailants involved in the murder of a 23-year-old boda boda rider.

The victim, identified as Wakhata Ivan, was found murdered with severe head injuries believed to have been inflicted by a sharp weapon. His motorcycle, registration number UGG 151Z (Bajaj Boxer), was also stolen.




The incident was reported by Nyaranga Hassan, a 40-year-old boda boda chairman and resident of Netibu cell, Butemulani ward, Lwakhakha Town Council in Namisindwa District.




According to police, Wakhata Ivan was a boda boda rider from Nalondo cell, Bukibayi ward, Lwakhakha Town Council. The murder is believed to have occurred on the night of January 16, 2025, in Lukhuna cell, Bukemo ward, Lwakhakha Town Council, although the exact time of the incident remains unknown.




Police spokesperson Rogers Taitika stated that the deceased was last seen on the evening of January 16, 2025, at the boda boda stage in Lwakhakha.

On January 18, 2025, passersby discovered Wakhata Ivan’s body near the Lwakhakha River in a bush. They alerted the boda boda chairman, who subsequently reported the discovery to the police.

Police are investigating the murder and actively gathering intelligence to locate the assailants and recover the stolen motorcycle. The deceased’s body has been returned to his family for burial.
