A 43-year-old man, Jjingo Muhammad, has been arrested and charged with aggravated defilement of a 13-year-old girl in Kamuli district.
The Incident
The victim’s mother left her daughter at home with a phone while she traveled for work. Upon returning, the mother found her daughter with money she hadn’t given her. The daughter revealed the money was from Jjingo Muhammad, who had been abusing her at his home. She also said he forced her to take pills to avoid pregnancy.
The Arrest
The mother reported the crime to the police, and Jjingo Muhammad was arrested. The police investigated the scene and spoke to witnesses. Jjingo Muhammad was brought to court on June 7th and is being held in custody while the investigation continues.
Police Statement
The police spokesperson, SCP Enanga Fred, condemned this act of violence and urged the public to report any suspected child abuse to the nearest police station. He emphasized the importance of protecting children and the need for community cooperation to fight such crimes.
