Workers at a Stabex Fuel station in Kassanda District were brutally attacked by alleged female assailants early Sunday morning. The incident took place in Luswa village.

Reports indicate that these robbers attacked four security guards with machetes, leaving them injured and tying them with ropes on the premises of the fuel station. The thugs reportedly scaled the perimeter wall around 2 am, starting by abducting the guards, including Naftal Emmakol and Okiror Yusuf.

Following this, they assaulted other employees, including Magoola Wafula and Godfrey Ssenyondo, demanding money from them. A first responder recalled arriving at the scene and finding the victims covered in blood.

“We discovered them in the office, soaked in a pool of blood. One was bound, and when my daughter Jackie came in, she urged me to help untie him, as he was starting to lose consciousness,” recounted a local resident.

“When we entered the office, it was so quiet, it appeared as if there were only corpses inside,” added another neighbor, Irene Namutosi.

The four victims were transported to the hospital in critical condition. Meanwhile, the attackers broke into the manager’s office, stealing Shs 6 million along with other valuables.

Residents have reported a significant increase in crimes of this nature and attribute it to the unreliable electricity supply in their area.

Sam Karubale, a local resident, noted that the constant theft of electrical wires had left them without power, resulting in many idle youths, which has led to a rise in theft incidents.

Samuel Ssengoba, another resident, urged the authorities to implement nighttime patrols, suggesting that many criminal activities occur under the cover of darkness.

Rachel Kawala, the Police Spokesperson for the Wamala region, stated that they are actively working to capture those responsible for the incident. She mentioned that their trained police dog guided them to the home of a woman located 5 kilometers from the scene, where she has already been apprehended to assist in the investigation.

“We utilized our police dog in the investigation, and it directed us to the home of a woman five kilometers away from the scene. She has been detained to assist with our inquiries,” she confirmed.
