Fisherman Found Dead at Hoima Landing Site; Two Herdsmen in Custody

Hoima Police are currently investigating the death of a fisherman, Pithuwa, who was found deceased at Kabarangwa landing site in Kibiro parish, Kiganja Sub County, Hoima district, on Saturday night. The incident occurred around 11 p.m.

While details of the incident remain under investigation to avoid jeopardizing the ongoing process, police have confirmed the arrest of two suspects believed to be involved. The search for any other individuals potentially connected to the tragedy is ongoing.




“We understand this is a difficult time for the community,” stated Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson. “Our priority is to conduct a thorough investigation while respecting the privacy of those involved.”




He emphasized that the suspects are currently in police custody at Hoima central police station and have been charged with murder.




“We encourage anyone with information related to this incident to come forward,” Hakiza added. “The community’s cooperation is crucial in ensuring justice for the deceased and preventing similar tragedies from occurring.”

The Kibiro landing site community is understandably shaken by this event. Local authorities are providing support to the victim’s family and urging residents to remain calm and cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
