On September 2, 2023, Godwin Kansiime, the director of Victoria Secondary School, lost his life, and now, four individuals are facing charges related to his death.
Shakirah Natukunda, aged 23, Moses Ssenyonjo, aged 55, Samuel Ssekajja, and Wilber Katende are the suspects accused of being involved in the murder.
On September 22, 2023, these four individuals, Shakirah Natukunda, Moses Ssenyonjo, Samuel Ssekajja, and Wilber Katende, appeared before Nansana Grade One Magistrate, Ms. Irene Nambatya. During the hearing, the prosecution mentioned that there are still many other suspects who have not been apprehended.
Magistrate Nambatya explained that the case is of a serious nature, and her court does not have the authority to handle it. Consequently, she ordered that the suspects be remanded in Luzira Prison until September 26, when they will return to court for further proceedings.
Magistrate Nambatya also advised the suspects that if they wish to enter any pleas, they should do so through the High Court.
The alleged murder of Mr. Kansiime occurred at Nansana Inn, after which his body was transported and left near Nansomba Village in Masulita Sub County, Wakiso District, by individuals associated with the guest house operators, all on the night of September 2.
