Okema stated that this report was registered at the police by Acato Francis, aged 66, on January 19, 2024, at around 15:00 hours.
The suspects who are on the run and most wanted by the police include:
- Alemo Daniel

SP Jimmy Okema stated that it’s alleged that on January 19, 2024, in the morning, the suspects accused Alemo (now deceased) of stealing a bull, and he was instantly beaten to death by a mob. A case of murder by a mob has therefore been registered at Apac police station under CRB: 070/2024.
The Police spokesperson for the North Kyoga Region, SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, stated that the scene of the crime was visited by the police, and the body was picked and conveyed to Apac Hospital’s Mortuary for a postmortem. No arrests have been made yet, but he confirmed that the four suspects are still at large.
SP Okema termed it as ‘a very unfortunate incident,’ strongly condemning the actions of these suspects. The police spokesperson has continued to appeal to members of the public to always respect the rule of law, as per Article 22 of the Constitution of Uganda, which clearly talks about the protection of the right to life. No one has any right to take the life of another person.
He, therefore, advised community members to support the police with investigations of any person alleged to have committed an offense.
