Police Arrest 15 Suspected ‘Hardcore’ Criminals in Wakiso District Operation

Uganda Police Force Deputy Police Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Area, Luke Owoyesigyire, has announced a successful intelligence-led operation conducted by the territorial police at Kira Division. The operation, carried out today in response to the recent increase in reported criminal activities, resulted in the arrest of 15 suspected hardcore criminals. The operation specifically targeted Nsawo Zone, Kyaliwajala Ward, Namugongo Division, Wakiso District.

The suspects arrested during the operation are as follows:

  2. Katumba Ashraf alias Cobler (a known serial offender)
  3. Esere Hassan
  4. Olowo Abeneko
  5. Kasoma Emmanuel
  6. Safari Yona
  7. Bukenya Mudasiru
  8. Mudu Salim
  9. Sekandi Mustafa
  10. Kikawa Stanley
  11. Kabuye Ronald
  12. Vumbi Enock
  13. Nuwe John
  14. Benjamin Sali
  15. Kyasanku Godfrey

The operation also led to the recovery of suspected narcotic substances and house-breaking implements. While further details will be provided soon, Deputy Police Spokesperson Owoyesigyire emphasized that these operations are part of ongoing efforts to ensure security, particularly as the country prepares for the upcoming celebrations of Martyrs Day.

The successful apprehension of these suspected criminals demonstrates the dedication of the Uganda Police Force to maintaining law and order in the community. With intelligence-led operations like this one, law enforcement authorities aim to curb criminal activities and protect the safety and well-being of citizens.

ASP Luke added that the specific focus on Nsawo Zone in Wakiso District underscores the importance of targeting areas where criminal activities are reported to be prevalent. He claimed by conducting such operations, the police send a clear message that criminal behavior will not be tolerated, and perpetrators will be held accountable for their actions.

ASP Luke concluded by stating that law enforcement authorities will continue to work diligently to gather evidence and build strong cases against the arrested individuals, and that through collaborative efforts between the police and the community, it is hoped that crime rates will decrease, contributing to a safer and more secure environment for all residents.
