Gunmen Attack Ntinda Soda Depot, Injuring Two and Taking Cash

In an incident on the evening of Friday, September 22, 2023, two individuals were shot and injured during a robbery at a soda depot in Ntinda, Kampala.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, three gunmen on a motorcycle conducted the raid at the depot situated along the Ntinda-Kisaasi road. They confronted the manager, Mr. Sserunkuma Abdul, 27, and demanded money. When Mr. Sserunkuma informed them that the money had already been deposited in the bank, one of the assailants shot him twice in the stomach. Additionally, the attackers shot a passerby, Patrick Rwothomiyo, 28, in the neck as they fled the scene.

Patrick Rwothomiyo, who happened to be driving past the depot at the time of the incident, received immediate first aid at Life Link Hospital.

The robbery took place while the depot’s staff were in the process of reconciling their sales for the day.
