The Kagadi territorial police have apprehended Tibihikira Stephen in connection with a fatal traffic accident that occurred on February 26, 2024, around 8:00 am in Iguruka. The incident took place during a demonstration led by residents of Muhoro, Bwikara, and nearby areas, as well as a group of boda boda riders protesting against the deteriorated roads due to rain damage.

According to preliminary reports, the area LCV chairperson and his team were dispatched to assess the situation. However, during the demonstration, a vehicle registered as UG 6998M and belonging to the District Health Office, driven by Tibihikira Stephen, a driver employed by the Kagadi local government, was traveling at high speed. Tragically, it struck and fatally injured Magezi Tumuhaise, a 25-year-old resident of Rwenzori Cell, Kayanja Parish, Mayirirwe Subcounty, in Kagadi District.

Magezi Tumuhaise, who was reportedly participating in the demonstration, succumbed to his injuries. Following the collision, the driver fled the scene. However, he was later apprehended by law enforcement authorities.
