It was discovered that the lodge attendants had moved Mugaga’s body from the scene before the authorities arrived.

On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, police in Kampala launched a search for the attendants of Wave Inn Lodge, located in St. Mbaga Zone, Gabba Parish, Makindye Division. This follows the sudden death of a customer, Livingstone Mugaga, who collapsed under unclear circumstances at the lodge.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the case is being treated as a potential murder. This decision was made after it was discovered that the lodge attendants had moved Mugaga’s body from the scene before the authorities arrived.

The incident occurred on the morning of Monday, August 5, 2024. Owoyesigyire reported that Mugaga collapsed at around 6 a.m. at the lodge. The lodge staff relocated the body to the compound and subsequently fled the scene. Police are now working to locate and question the attendants and the lodge manager as part of the ongoing investigation.

The police are currently waiting for a post-mortem report from City Mortuary Mulago. This report is expected to provide more information on the cause of Mugaga’s death.
