Police spokesperson Kawala emphasized the gravity of the accusations, explaining that parents expected the priest to play a guiding role in shaping the moral integrity of the students under his care.

(Kiboga) – Police in Kiboga District are investigating allegations of aggravated defilement against a priest affiliated with the Church of Uganda, who also serves as the principal of a local vocational school. The accused, Rev. George William Luyimbazi of All Saints Church Kiboga, is alleged to have defiled and raped four female students between June and October 2024, according to a statement by Wamala Police spokesperson, Rachael Kawala.

One of the victims has reportedly been confirmed pregnant. This revelation has intensified the public outrage surrounding the case, with community members expressing disappointment over the conduct of a figure they once trusted to uphold moral standards.

The incidents allegedly took place at both Rev. Luyimbazi’s residence at the church and the premises of Bamusuta Vocational Institute, where he holds a leadership position. Police stated that they were notified of the allegations on November 1, 2024, around 6:00 pm, following complaints from parents of the victims. The affected girls, aged between 16 and 18, had allegedly endured abuse at different intervals over several months.

As part of the investigation, Police have documented statements from relevant parties and conducted medical examinations of the victims. According to the preliminary findings, the assaults occurred on separate occasions at locations connected to the church and vocational institute.

Police spokesperson Kawala emphasized the gravity of the accusations, explaining that parents expected the priest to play a guiding role in shaping the moral integrity of the students under his care. Instead, the priest allegedly exploited their trust, leading to charges of aggravated defilement and rape. She added, “The parents expected the minister to guide and instill morals in the minors entrusted to him but, to their surprise, he trapped them in the jaws of Satan.”

The anger over the allegations reached a peak when parents gathered to confront the priest following his arrest, prompting Police intervention to prevent any potential harm to him. Rev. Luyimbazi is currently being held at Kiboga Police Station as authorities continue their investigation into the allegations. Further details on the case are expected to emerge as police pursue additional leads.
