Security and local leaders in Kayunga District are alarmed following the discovery of two unknown bodies dumped at the River Ssezibwa Bridge along the Mukono-Kayunga Highway. The bodies, identified as male adults, include one believed to be of Asian descent and another of a Ugandan, both displaying wounds, according to the police.
Kayunga District Police Commander (DPC) Rosette Sikahwa expressed suspicion that the bodies might have been brought from distant locations and dumped at the site. Another possibility being considered is that the victims could have been killed at the location before their bodies were discarded.
One of the bodies was discovered by a fisherman conducting fishing activities at the scene. Despite the ongoing police presence at Ssezibwa Bridge during the daytime, officers did not witness anyone dumping the bodies, and no suspects have been identified.
The bodies, lacking any form of identification, have been buried in the Kayunga Town cemetery as no one has come forward to claim them. Residents near the bridge mentioned that instances of people traveling from distant areas and throwing themselves into River Ssezibwa at the bridge site have occurred in the past.
Kayunga District Chairman Andrew Muwonge expressed concern over the situation and urged the police to investigate the source of the bodies and identify those responsible for these acts.
