Kampala Businessman Anthony Mutinisa Shot Dead at His Office

Kampala — The city’s business community has been thrown into shock following the tragic death of businessman Anthony Mutinisa the proprietor of Mutinisa Motors Uganda. He was shot dead on Sunday afternoon by a security guard at his office located along Yusuf Lule Road in Kampala.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred at around 3:00 pm when Mutinisa was working alone at his office. Eyewitnesses said the businessman was found lifeless shortly after gunshots were heard from within the building.

The identity of the guard and the exact motive behind the shooting remain unclear. Police have since cordoned off the scene, recovered the firearm used in the incident, and launched investigations into what could have led to the deadly attack.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson \[insert official name if confirmed] said detectives are following several leads. “We are treating this as a murder case. The suspect has been taken into custody and investigations are ongoing to establish whether this was premeditated or triggered by another issue,” a police source noted.

Anthony Mutinisa was widely known in Kampala’s automobile sector, with Mutinisa Motors dealing in the import and sale of cars. Colleagues describe him as a hardworking and ambitious entrepreneur who had built strong networks in Uganda’s motor industry.

By press time, the body had been taken to Mulago National Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination, while relatives and friends gathered at his residence in shock and grief.

The killing has reignited public debate on the role of private security companies and the safety of clients in workplaces, especially in light of recent cases where guards have been implicated in violent incidents.

Authorities have assured the public that details surrounding the case will be communicated once investigations are complete.
