A woman discovered in bed with another man directed her rage toward her husband, fatally stabbing him.
Law enforcement in Luweero District is looking into a murder case involving stabbing that occurred on Wednesday night at Namawojja village, Nambi Parish, Zirobwe Town Council.
The victim has been named as 29-year-old Godfrey Kamoga, a local farmer and resident of the area.
As per reports from local authorities and police, Kamoga was mortally wounded by his wife, Shakira Mbabazi, after he found her in bed with a close friend. The town’s mayor stated that the deceased had received warnings from neighbors regarding his wife’s affair with this friend who had been staying with them for several months. He, however, dismissed these warnings as mere gossip until he caught them in the act.
“Villagers had been informing him that his friend was involved in an inappropriate relationship with his wife, but he chose not to believe it,” Imarachi explained.
“Tragically, when he discovered them in his house, his wife turned against him and fatally stabbed him in their living room.”
ASP Sam Twiinaemazima, the PRO of Savannah Region Police, mentioned that the police acted swiftly after receiving this report. They arrested the woman while her accomplice remains at large.
“After receiving the report, our officers hurried to the location.
A murder by stabbing case was documented, and the suspect has been detained for further investigation; however, the deceased’s friend is currently on the loose,” confirmed ASP Twiinaemazima.
In the meantime, Godfrey Kamoga’s body was transported to Luweero Hospital’s morgue for an autopsy as inquiries into the matter continue.
