Man Hacked to Death in Kakumiro, Police Launch Hunt for Killers

Police in Kakumiro are hunting for unknown assailants who raided Kikwaya village in Kikwaya parish and hacked a man to death.

The deceased has been identified as Moses Kasozi 28, a resident of the same area.

The assailants raided Kasozi’s home on Tuesday at around 10 p.m. and severally hacked him on the head, neck, and face.




Javira Birimaiso, a resident explains that they heard Kasozi screaming for help and rushed, only to find him lying dead in a pool of blood.




Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson says, investigations into the murder have commenced. He tasked the public to cooperate with detectives by availing information that could lead to the arrest and detention of the suspects involved in the murder.




Hakiza says the postmortem report indicated that the deceased succumbed to over bleeding following injuries inflicted on him by his attackers.
