The suspects were arrested on Wednesday night during an operation conducted between 7pm and 11pm, according to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Racheal Kawala.

Kawala said the operation targeted areas around Busega and the Kyengera Flyover, where police suspected criminals were taking advantage of evening traffic congestion to target members of the public.

The operation covered the Northern Bypass, Busega Fish Market and cinema halls in the surrounding area.

Police also searched the swamp beyond the Mityana Road Flyover towards Bulenga and other areas within Kigwanya Zone, Kampala District.
