Kassanda Police Recovers Missing Baby: Suspect Apprehended, Child Reunited with Mother
The territorial police in Kassanda reported that they have successfully found a one-month-old baby girl who disappeared from her mother, Kyarimpa Peace, on October 16, 2023, at approximately 5:00 PM while they were at Kiganda Health Centre IV for an immunization visit. A report was made on the same day, prompting a search operation.
The suspect, Nankabirwa Esseza, a 19-year-old resident of Kalamba Town Council in Kassanda district, was taken into custody on October 18, 2023, in Waybridge, Mubende Municipality, Mubende District, based on information gathered through intelligence.
Preliminary findings indicate that Nankabirwa’s actions were related to a deception involving her boyfriend and a false pregnancy claim. Currently, the suspect is being held at Kassanda CPS as the investigation continues.
It is worth noting that the child has been reunited with her mother after a comprehensive medical examination. The authorities express their gratitude to all the teams that played a role in recovering the child.
