Masindi, Uganda – Six members of the same family have been arrested for the attempted murder of Stephen Musinguzi, 23. The suspects, Jackson Atuginga, Hillary Tumuhaise, Hassan Isingoma, Alfred Kyomi, Emerita Asaba, and Sarah Nyamahunge, all reside in Byerima Cell, Kiryanga Ward, Nyangahya Division of Masindi Municipality.

On Saturday, the suspects, armed with machetes, attacked Musinguzi’s home. They brutally hacked him on the head, neck, and other body parts. Despite his injuries, Musinguzi managed to raise an alarm, alerting nearby residents. He was rushed to Mirembe Medical Center, where he remains hospitalized.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson, stated that following an investigation, all six suspects are in police custody.

According to Hakiza, the families have a long-standing feud over a piece of land in the area. This dispute appears to be the motive behind the attack.

Hakiza urged families facing land disputes to seek legal resolution through the courts of law, condemning violence as a means of settling such conflicts.
