Six Nkoma SS Students Arrested Over Violent Robbery of Fellow Student Caught on Video in Mbale

MBALE, Uganda — Police in Mbale City have arrested six students of Nkoma Secondary School in connection with an aggravated robbery targeting a Senior Four student from Mbale Progressive Secondary School.

The incident occurred on April 14 at Nabuyonga Rise in the Northern Division, where the suspects allegedly attacked the victim as he made his way home from school. According to police, the group assaulted the student before robbing him of a smartphone and UGX 20,000.

Authorities say a knife believed to have been used in the attack has since been recovered. The victim received medical examination, and officers documented the crime scene as part of ongoing investigations.

Police further revealed that the suspects were positively identified by the victim, strengthening the case against them. Meanwhile, a video capturing the disturbing incident has been widely circulated on social media, sparking concern among residents and parents over rising cases of student-related violence.

The suspects remain in custody as investigations continue. Police have urged the public, particularly students, to avoid engaging in criminal activities and instead seek peaceful ways of resolving conflicts.
