Suspected Poisoning Claims Two Lives in Kikuube

Two individuals have lost their lives due to suspected poisoning in Kikuube district. The victims are identified as 23-year-old Phionah Kemigisha, a resident of Byeya village in Kigoyera parish, Kyenjojo district, and Sylvia Barungi, a 16-year-old female juvenile from Kikonda in Bubogo parish, Kabwoya sub-county, Kikuube district.

Albertine Region police spokesperson, Julius Allan Hakiza, reported that the unfortunate event transpired on Thursday around 4 pm. The police were alerted when it was discovered that the victims were scrambling and creating a disturbance in their rented room.

Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that by the time neighbors intervened to assist the victims, both Kemigisha and Barungi had already succumbed in their rented accommodation. The bodies were subsequently taken to Kikuube Health Center IV, pending a postmortem examination.
