Two Tausi Bus Workers Arrested for Murder After Fatal Fight at Mbarara Bus Park

Mbarara City, Uganda – Police in Mbarara have arrested two men in connection with the death of a 20-year-old broker following a violent altercation at the Mbarara Bus Park.

The suspects have been identified as Akol Vincent, aged 34, a passenger guide with Tausi Bus Company, and Wabwire Isma, aged 25, a broker for the same company. They are accused of being involved in the assault that led to the death of Asasira Lameck, a broker with KR Coaches.

According to SP Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi Region Police spokesperson, the incident occurred on October 8, 2025, at around 10:00 a.m. following a disagreement between workers of Tausi Bus Company and KR Coaches.

“It is alleged that Akol began fighting with a KR Coaches employee identified as Shafik. When the deceased, Asasira Lameck, attempted to intervene, he was assaulted by Akol, Wabwire, and others. During the scuffle, he was punched and pushed to the ground, hitting his head and losing consciousness,” said SP Kasasira.

Lameck was rushed to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at around 3:00 a.m. on October 9, 2025, due to injuries sustained in the assault.

The body has been taken to the hospital mortuary for a postmortem to determine the exact cause of death.

The two suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue.
