Nile Breweries Limited has pledged a generous contribution of UGX 450 million for the upcoming royal wedding of Kyabazinga William Gabula Nadiope IV and Ms. Jovia Mutesi, set to take place on November 18 at Bugembe Cathedral in Jinja City. The donation was formally presented by Mr. Emmanuel Njuki, the Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs at Nile Breweries, during a ceremony held at the Kingdom headquarters in Bugembe. Mr. Njuki mentioned that the package encompasses both monetary funds and various in-kind items.

As part of their commitment to the event, Nile Breweries intends to engage in media partnership activities, including advertising wedding preparations on prominent billboards and radio broadcasts. Additionally, each of the twelve celebration venues will be equipped with a special bar stocked with Nile Breweries’ beer brands for the guests to enjoy.

Mr. Njuki emphasized the enduring relationship between Nile Breweries and the Busoga Kingdom, citing the use of water from the Source of River Nile in their beer production. He stated that their contribution to the wedding is a way to strengthen this connection.

He noted the unity within Busoga that has attracted the interest of companies like Nile Breweries, encouraging Kyabazinga subjects to maintain their positive branding efforts to attract more stakeholders to the Kingdom.

Mr. Patrick Batumbya, Chairperson of the royal wedding organizing committee, reported that the cash collection is progressing well, with a favorable response from the public in terms of contributions.

Ms. Justine Kasule Lumumba, Head of Media and Entertainment, commended the media for its positive coverage of the upcoming wedding.

The wedding ceremony will take place at Bugembe Cathedral, followed by a reception at Igenge Palace in Jinja City for an estimated 3,000 special guests. Additionally, the event will be virtually streamed in twelve other venues across various districts in the Busoga Sub-region.

In a separate development, all clan heads within the Busoga Kingdom have collectively committed to providing at least one cow as their contribution to the royal wedding. The Kingdom comprises over 300 clans associated with the 11 hereditary chiefdoms. Mr. David Iguru Isabirye, the clan heads’ spokesperson, stated that this contribution reflects their “parental support to the Kyabazinga,” emphasizing the vital role clan members play in the royal chiefs’ appointments.
