Kyejonjo District, Uganda – As the 2026 parliamentary race begins to take shape, Kampala City Deputy Lord Mayor Doreen Nyajura and several members of parliament have joined a growing list of political figures seeking spiritual grounding by visiting Owobusobozi Bisaka, the spiritual leader of the Faith of Unity.
Nyajura, a prominent opposition politician under the People’s Fort for Freedom (PFF), travelled to Rugombe Intambiro in Kyejonjo District over the weekend to attend a three-day spiritual gathering. The event, led by Owobusobozi himself, attracted hundreds of believers, political aspirants, and new converts, all drawn by messages of healing, discipline, and national unity.
Although Nyajura is best known for her firm stance against the ruling establishment, her presence at the gathering underscores the increasing role that spiritual leaders are playing in Uganda’s political landscape. During the event, she received prayers and blessings from Owobusobozi—a gesture many politicians believe can boost their fortunes ahead of elections.
The ceremony, held at the Faith’s headquarters in Rugombe, was marked by mass prayers, spiritual teachings, and moments of reflection. Owobusobozi called on leaders to embrace unity and prioritise the needs of citizens over partisan interests. He also emphasised the self-reliant nature of the Faith of Unity, discouraging foreign religious influences and urging followers to observe the Faith’s calendar, which designates the 2nd, 12th, and 22nd of each month as days of rest and healing.

Over 200 people reportedly converted to the Faith of Unity during the gathering, a testament to its growing influence. Other notable attendees included Mwenge North MP David Muhumuza and Kyaka North MP Paul Asaba Nsabimana, both of whom echoed Nyajura’s appreciation for Owobusobozi’s spiritual guidance and vision for national harmony.
“This is not just about politics,” one attendee remarked. “It’s about grounding yourself, about leadership with values, and about connecting with the people at a spiritual level.”
Owobusobozi’s next public appearance is scheduled for November 14–16 at Nsambya Intambiro in Kampala Bukwenda, where he is expected to continue preaching unity and development in alignment with national priorities.
