The Cricket Cranes faced a harsh reality check as they commenced their 12-day tour in India. Their opponents, National CC, displayed the vast cricketing resources that make India a global powerhouse in the sport. Today’s encounters resulted in back-to-back losses for the Cricket Cranes, revealing the challenging road that lies ahead for the Ugandan team.

The first match saw the Cricket Cranes post a score of 180/8, a total that National CC chased down with relative ease, securing a two-wicket victory. The second match didn’t bring a change in fortune for the visiting team, as they managed a slightly improved score of 166/6, only to witness National CC clinch another win by seven wickets. Despite their commendable individual performances, with Ronald Lutaaya and Roger Mukasa scoring half-centuries in each game, the overall team effort fell short against the formidable opponents.

The afternoon clash, where Uganda raised their game by adding 14 runs to their morning total, highlighted the relentless competition in Mumbai. However, National CC’s explosive batting lineup proved too formidable for the Cricket Cranes, emphasizing the cricketing prowess that the Ugandan team is up against during their tour.

The current tour serves as a crucial training camp for the Cricket Cranes, preparing them for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Over the next 12 days, they will engage in nine trial games against various teams in Mumbai, aiming to refine their skills and strategies. The lessons learned from these challenging encounters will undoubtedly play a vital role in shaping the team’s performance in the upcoming tournament.
