Construction Begins for New Bunyoro Public University
The contractor for the Bunyoro Public University project has visited the site at Bulera Core Primary Teachers College in Hoima City to initiate preliminary work. The College has allocated 20 acres from its 42-acre property for the new university. Surveyors from the Ministry of Lands have measured this land to confirm the donation.
The construction of the university will be managed by the UPDF Engineering Brigade. The team has been brought to the site to plan and prepare for the project’s design and construction phases. They will also oversee the development of essential infrastructure, including road access, water supply, and electricity.
The visit was part of the preparation to ensure that all necessary utilities are in place to facilitate the construction work. The UPDF Engineers Brigade, along with National Water, will handle the extension of water services. They aim to start construction work in a few days. The team will assess the site and finalize the designs and plans needed for the project.
Surveyors and consultants are expected to be on site to finalize the necessary preparations and create the construction blueprints. The Office of the Prime Minister has confirmed that funding is available, and the project is set to move forward. The construction team announced it is committed to providing the required utilities and ensuring the project’s success, aligning with both current and future needs.
