Nkumba University has announced the availability of 500 scholarships for prospective students aiming to enroll in the institution for the February 2024 intake.
These scholarships aim to support individuals who have successfully completed their Advanced Certificate of Education but face financial constraints hindering their pursuit of higher education.
In an official statement on the university’s website, eligibility criteria for the scholarships were outlined. To qualify, applicants must be Ugandan citizens enrolled in a full-time degree program at Nkumba University.
Professor Jude Lubega, the University’s Vice Chancellor, emphasized the institution’s commitment to making education accessible to all, regardless of financial circumstances. He stated, “Education is a powerful tool that should be accessible to all, regardless of their financial circumstances.”
To apply for the scholarships, the university has provided a downloadable application form in PDF format on its website, labeled SCHOLARSHIP-APPLICATION-FORM.pdf. Prospective candidates must submit a fully filled application form along with supporting documents to Nkumba University by January 31st, 2024, for consideration and vetting.
While the university has historically focused on scholarships for students with sporting talents, last year marked a shift as the opportunity was extended to the general public, irrespective of their prowess in sports. Over 500 students benefited from the program, providing significant academic opportunities for Ugandans.
The deadline for submitting application forms and supporting documents is January 31st, 2024. Candidates are advised to expedite the submission process.
The scholarship program aligns with Nkumba University’s commitment to educational inclusivity, reflecting its corporate social responsibility towards building a society where education transcends barriers.
Good it supports those who are desperate.
