Iceme Girls Secondary School has offered bursaries to talented students in sports and those excelling in academics at both ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels. With just two years in office, the Headteacher of the school, Sr. Dayo Joyce Moria, narrated to the media in a press briefing held on Monday at Radio Wa FM premises that the school has a vision of promoting girl child education in Oyam District and Lango sub-region as a whole.
Sr. Joyce noted that the foundation of education is centered on the girl child, and many prominent people today in Lango have succeeded in life after studying at Iceme Girls.
Currently, Iceme Girls has an enrollment of 300 students and is the only girls’ secondary school in Oyam District offering bursaries at both ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels, in addition to providing free access to mattresses for learners. It has served Lango sub-region for a long period but can now accommodate over 800 students. The school is fenced with a standby generator and electricity. It upholds good morals and discipline.
The headteacher was accompanied by Sr. Sylvia Atim, who is a classroom teacher for both ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels at Iceme Girls S.S.
“Success through labor” is the motto of the school.
